Sounds fundamental, right? Just ask. For so many, the act of simply asking a question is forgotten or we're so afraid to ask for fear of rejection or that we'll be seen in a negative light, that we fail to ask altogether. We seem to ask ourselves questions all the time (mumbling mostly), but sometimes we don't have the right answer or we make one up. Both of these lead to bad decisions or choices.
Life is short and there is much to learn and learning expands our lives by offering up new horizons. The only way to learn is to take action and ask questions.
Today, with the internet and vast array of methods to both ask questions and finding answers, this should be easy. But where to start? Start at google.com or ask.com. If the search results are unwieldly, learn how to refine your search results. Don't know what to ask, or how to ask, or where to ask? Then pick up the phone and call your local library and ask the librarian (they love to answer questions or to do a bit a research to find the answer). Post your question to a discussion forum or a newsgroup like Google Groups. Call a friend or a family member, or contact a local business owner or any of the myriad of local organizations accessible in any town. Talk to your neighbors (those strange people living in the next house) or just ask a family member or friend. Heck, ask he mailman.
The point to remember is that there are no stupid questions, only stupid people who suggest questions are stupid. So what to do? Just ask.
